COVID-19 pandemic and the dynamic development of the job market – risk factors for educationally disadvantaged young people

Socioeconomic differences in society have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Young adults who have already been disadvantaged before, had an even worse access to educational offers (home schooling, digital education tools, …) and are left behind concerning their personal development. But also regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic, educationally disadvantages young adults are more likely to have a worse education, worse results in their vocational training and as a result of this worse chances of finding a suitable job.

This situation is intensified through a change in the job market and a growing dynamic of new developments and the reduction of employment possibilities in the low-wage sector.Within the frame of these developments, low-qualified employment areas are generally more affected by automation and the reduce of jobs, which results in a higher risk of being unemployed as a low-qualified person. Extensive Modules in different areasAfter a first analysis of the demands, the focus aims at developing four modules with the following topics:

1. Processes of learning and their monitoring

2. Communication and Conflict Management

3. Target group-oriented teaching with digital tools

4. Determination of competencies and Promotion
