The educational project „digitized vocational training workshop“ is funded by the Bavarian State Chancellery and is running for 18 months. The project aims at retraining young unemployed as well as unlearned workers in the building sector as tilers and bricklayers and giving them new perspectives at the job center.
Retraining as blended-learning trainings
The retrainings are being held as blended-learning trainings and are preparing the participants in practial tasks at the vocational training center Soliman as well as in theoretical online sessions. Furthermore, the equipment of the vocational training school is being improved as well in order to provide a state-of-the-art digitized vocational training.
Digital further education with the help of the tool BIM
Furthermore, digital further education courses concerning the topics of resource management, waste management an energy efficiency are being developed and offered together with the construction union. Within the development process, the tool BIM ist being integrated. This tool is a digital base for the transformation within the construction sector and provides a digital method to optimize the planning and execution of tasks. The national online platforms and Hub4Africa are used to provide permanent access to the digital offers.
Enforcement of the construction sector
Not only the vocational training school and their apprentices but also the local economy and the job market in Tunisia shall be strenghtened through the project.
As a pilot project, digitization is being integrated into the technical vocational training and it is planned to mulitplicate it when the project is successful. Within the construction sector, digitisation becomes more and more important and well-trained craftsmen are in demand. That is how they can have a positive impact on the economical development of their country.
