On 29th May and 30th May, the first part of a series of trainings concerning Microsoft Excel for school personnel at the professional school Soliman took place in Tunis within the range of the project of the German-Tunisian Crafts School.

In the middle of April, classes had to be cancelled at all schools and universities in Tunisia due to the COVID-19-pandemic. But on 19 May, classes could be restarted at six locations of the German-Tunisian Crafts Schools.

Due to the fact that trips to Africa are almost impossible at the moment, the African master trainers had to organize and execute the trainings at the energy schools themselves. The huge amount of basic knowledge that has been given to them at Wildpoldsried before the COVID-19-pandemic, were refreshed and intensified on behalf of online courses. Additionally, the supporters of the project VET4Africa have been giving help online during the training in Africa.

At two of the six locations of the “German-Tunisian Crafts Schools”, the first part of the qualification of four professions have started. At these locations, young Tunisians can now qualify as systems mechanics, masons, tilers or carpenters. After six months, they will acquire a certificate.

In the middle of April 2021, bbw is visiting four different cities in South Africa accompanied by a trainer commissioned by the initiative SAVE-P. A total of approximately thirty-five service technicians from 12 different hospitals will be trained in the maintenance and servicing of non-invasive ventilators. Starting point of the training was the city of Durban, followed by medical facilities in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Mthatha.

18 apprentices from a wood sculptor class from the Munich Center for Arts and Crafts and 14 soon-to-be arts and crafts men and women from Marrakesh accepted the challenge to sketch and assemble a jewel box. This task is part of the partner project OFE (Orientation-Formation-Emploi).
