On 4th July 2019, the new photovoltaic (PV) plant at the wastewater treatment plant in Zahle, Lebanon, with a rated output of 202 kWP (kilowatt peak) was completed. It is an extension of an already existing PV plant (55 kWp) from 2018. The plant was installed by bfz in cooperation with the Lebanese solar company Smart Age.

In January 2019 the big planning workshop for Organic Egypt took place in SEKEM, Egypt. Around 20 experts from the field of organic farming, including Egyptian and German partners, came together for an interactive workshop to review the project plan, create synergies and provide impetus for strengthening Egyptian organic farming.

The second phase of the BIWAC (Baverian Institutional Water Cooperation) project in Tunisia was successfully completed at the end of March 2019. Between January 2018 and March 2019, the project comprised the training of a total of 17 Tunisian trainers in the areas of water supply and sanitation.

For the third time the career(me) and career(BY) training projects carried out by the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) are taking graduates into the world of work. The projects are intended to support young people from Spain, Croatia, Bulgaria and Hungary without career prospects in training in Germany. The projects thus make an important contribution to reducing youth unemployment in Europe and to securing skilled workers in Germany.
