Despite restrictions due to the COVID pandemic, UREPP (Uganda Refugee Employment Promotion Project/Bina Uganda) is taking off. The first mobilisation activities are already showing great success.
The project team around Peace Mbabazi (Kiryandongo Technical Insitute) has taken fruitful first steps in this regard. Through a radio talk show and contact with central actors in the refugee camps, numerous potential participants have already been reached. The demand for course registrations is already high and an increase can be expected through further advertising measures such as radio spots, local calls for proposals and word-of-mouth propaganda.Already within one week, over 1000 application forms have been picked up and about 200 have been returned. This high level of interest is a positive sign for the course of the project and for the time after the COVID pandemic.
