Around 250,000 young people in the region of São Paulo have no chance to go to school, they have no qualifications and are unemployed.
Well-known German companies such as Volkswagen, Siemens, Schaeffler, Mahle, Linde and Bosch, as well as Brazilian companies such as Sys (brakes), Drogasil (pharmaceuticals) and Santos (port administration) are interested in recruiting talented and motivated young skilled workers. The project cooperates with the Brazilian programme "Formare", which also focusses on disadvantaged young people, to acquire participants.
In order to find suitable and motivated young people for the large local companies, Kolping Werk São Paulo and German and Brazilian companies in the state of São Paulo work together in doing profiling, training and job placement for socially disadvantaged young people. Volunteer counsellors also create online formats for profiling and further training.
We discover the talents of young people from poor families in the favelas. Poverty is not a fate. Those who really want to can make their way with the help of profilers and counsellors and Bavarian expertise in skills analysis. Thousands of young people have already made their way out of poverty in the bbw projects.
The project is financially supported by the Bavarian State Chancellery
