With the development of an "intelligent factory", the bbw Group in Shanghai is breaking new ground. At the end of April, Prof. Günther G. Goth, CEO, Anna Engel-Köhler and Volker Falch, Head of the International Department, were on site.
It is new, modern and oriented towards the digital future: the "Centre for Employment and Practice" of our Chinese subsidiary Shanghai Bavarian Vocational Training and Consulting (sbvtc). In future, students and employees of German and Chinese companies will be taught here. In theory and practice. The orders come from the Central Employment Office and the regional job center. The timetable includes basic commercial rules, but also visits to the new sbvtc training company, the so-called "Smart Factory". In this small version of an "intelligent factory", production facilities and logistics systems are largely self-organizing without human intervention. For mutual networking, tools, machines or means of transport are equipped with digital "eyes and ears" (sensors) and controlled centrally via IT systems.
"After around 20 years of activity in China, the bbw Group now has its own technical training facilities on an industrial training level for the first time. This enables us to offer our customers the latest teaching content," says Volker Falch, Head of International Department, describing the significance of this investment.
To make room for the new "Smart Factory" on the ground floor, the location in Shanghai is being expanded: The existing training building will have three additional floors of around 1,600 square meters. The new premises will be officially inaugurated at the end of October.
