Occupational mobility for youths seeking VET

New paths to filling training posts: 240 training contracts for young Europeans in Bavarian companies

The Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) supports companies in the campaign for promoting the vocational mobility of youths interested in training from Europe (MobiPro-EU) as part of the model projects career(BY) and career(me). This gives young European applicants the opportunity to complete a dual training in Germany. We bring companies and applicants together and accompany participants over the course of the entire training period.

Cross-border vocational mobility

The special programme MobiPro-EU make an important contribution to cross-border vocational mobility. The projects career(BY) and career(me) offer young participating citizens from Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary and Romania the opportunity to escape youth unemployment in their homelands. At the same time, MobiPro-EU helps ensure a sufficient number of qualified experts in Bavaria.

Full accompaniment by the bbw

The bbw assists companies from recruiting applicants as well as organising and managing funds through to planning language courses for the participants. Another key cornerstone of the projects involves the personal advice for companies and trainees by coaches locally.

In January 2013, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs launched the special programme MobiPro-EU. This gave the bbw the impetus for the projects career(BY) and career(me). They are already in their fourth round and are set to end in February 2020.

The projects are devised and implemented on the suggestion of the bbw gGmbH in cooperation with the Association of Bavarian Business (vbw) as well as the Bavarian Metal and Electrical Industry (bayme vbm).

The overall project is divided into subprojects, these focussing on certain districts [career(BY) in the districts Traunstein, Cham, Nürnberger Land, Deggendorf, Wunsiedel] or sectors [career(me) for the cross-Bavarian metal and electrical industry].
