Workshop on the topic of "Maintenance of medical equipment”

On July the 20, the digital workshop "Maintenance of medical equipment" took place. This workshop was the first step towards a curriculum for a short course which the Technical University of Tshwane will later offer to prospective medical technicians.

The main goal of the workshop was to collect and discuss different perspectives in the field of clinical engineering.
Representatives from science and research, local experts and service technicians working in hospitals were invited. Employees of the Draeger company offered insights from the manufacturers’ point of view.

The event was hosted by bbw staff. In order to gain even deeper insights into the everyday work of hospital technicians, bbw will conduct and evaluate interviews with selected hospital technicians. The method of "Design Thinking" will be applied.
Based on the results of the workshop and the analysis, the final topics for the curriculum will be finalized in autumn.
