Labour Market Policies

How labour market policies are oriented is crucial for the desired success.

Unemployment and the problems associated with it such as lack of income and bleak future prospects are one of the most serious causes behind migration. Just as serious are the socio-cultural and political consequences of high unemployment: political instability and in many regions increasing tendencies towards extremism.

Causes of youth unemployment

In many countries, high youth unemployment in particular is both a serious and ongoing problem. It usually results from the accumulation of several factors, such as the lack of jobs due to low economic growth, low rates of entrepreneurship due to insufficient access to capital, inadequate education systems, as well as managing a training system that is not beneficial to the jobs market.

Active labour market policies and projects can help to some extent. Orienting vocational training effectively to the labour market makes the transition to employment easier. It is also necessary to strengthen diverse initiates aimed at accompanying job seekers into employment of self-employment.
